LAYOUT HUNTING ON THE FAMOUS LAKE ST CLAIR
Between late-October and mid-December, Lake St. Clair has some of the best diver duck hunting in the world. Starting early in the season, we see good numbers of Ruddy Ducks, Bufflehead and Bluebills. They are followed by Redheads and Canvasbacks, and sometimes rafts have tens of thousands of birds in them. Come check out some of the most action packed duck hunting you will ever do. Why you should use a guide service for layout hunting.
Layout hunting in big water is inherently dangerous. Weather can change in an instant. Lack of experience coupled with gear that most people think can get you by equals a bad combination. Our boats are inspected by the Michigan DNR and our captains are USCG licensed captains. I am a firm believer that diver duck hunting on big water is for experienced boaters that enjoy duck hunting, not duck hunters that have a boat. Before you buy a layout boat and try this out yourself, come see how it's done correctly.
What do i need to bring
Michigan hunting licenses with waterfowl HIP certification and federal duck stamp
Warm waterproof clothes (gray or camo)
Shotgun
Nontoxic shot(preferably size 2)
Extra Nontoxic shot
